Probably be locked. But IMO I think it's an exploit and lame. Anyone trying to justify it as "tactics" needs to find a new tactician.

That's true, but I think logging off to avoid a fight should be an exploit as well.
No vannishing ships, and no warping away to a random direction.
If you CTD, tough luck. **** happens. Hope you deleted your splash screen so you can log on faster.

Ships staying in space would be nice. I never understood why they just vannish into the 12th dimension.
